David Kubita (*2004) is currently a student at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the studio of Pavel Kudelásek. He comes from a musical family and began exhibiting talent at an early age.
His father, the violinist Jiří Kubita, introduced him to the violin at age five, then he continued his studies under the guidance of Martina Müllerová at the Elementary School of the Arts in Prague District 9. He won his first prize (first place) in 2013 at the competition Youth and Bohuslav Martinů in Polička.
Upon admission to the Musical Grammar School of the City of Prague (2015), he began studying under Radka Beranová. While there, he won prizes at the Josef Micka Competition, the Josef Muzika Competition, and Kocian Violin Competition. He has given concerts many times with a variety of orchestras, but his greatest success was a solo appearance at the Josef Suk Young Talents series at the Municipal House accompanied by the Prague Symphony Orchestra under the baton of its chief conductor Tomáš Brauner (2023).
After eights years of study at the Musical Grammar School of the City of Prague, he was admitted to the studio of Jiří Vodička at the Prague Conservatoire. He concluded his two-year study programme at the school with a solo appearance with the Hradec Králové Philharmonic.
He often appears with his mother, the harpist Jana Boušková, including a performance at a concert in Hong Kong. He is a regular participant at masterclasses led by Václav Hudeček, Jiří Fišer, Jakub Fišer, Štěpán Ježek, and Pavel Kudelásek. In addition, he had a special opportunity to collaborate with the world-famous violinist Maxim Vengerov.
As an orchestral player, he has appeared with such professional symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles as the Czech Philharmonic, the Prague Philharmonia, the Talich Chamber Orchestra, and the Haydn Ensemble. He has been a member of the Orchestral Academy of the Czech Philharmonic since 2025.
